Your Perfect Cover-Up This Summer
Just because you're going to the beach doesn't mean you should leave your style at home! Stop hiding under t-shirts and feeling uncomfortable all day, and start having some fun in the sun! Whether you are going for a day on the beach, to a pool party or to the tiki bar, caftans are the perfect cover-up to COVER UP and look and feel great. They can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on your mood or on the occasion.
Throwing a caftan over your swimsuit is a great way to cover up or improve your look. Cover-ups are the best way to beat your uncomfortable feeling if you're feeling nervous about being in a swimsuit. But, as you go shopping for swim suit cover-ups, there are a few things you need to keep in mind!
While an over-sized t-shirt may cover your body and bathing suit, and protect you from the sun, it's not appealing! Wearing anything over-sized and huge does not enhance your body's good parts. When looking for a caftan for a cover-up, purchase your size and the cut that fits your body the way it should. You may even get it tailored to fit more precisely, or the way you want it.
Before buying a caftan for a cover-up makes sure you know exactly what you want to cover up. If it is your upper body that you're concerned about, there is no need to wear a full-length caftan covering down to your ankles. If it is your thighs you are uncomfortable about, then a full-length caftan may be for you. There are also different neckline cuts depending on which you prefer.
After choosing the size, type, style, cut, etc. of your caftan cover-up, the color or print is important, also. Just because you are wearing the caftan as a cover-up does not mean you should not watch the colors and prints, as you would with any of your other clothing. Whether you have a petite body type or a larger body type, larger prints and lighter or brighter colors may make you appear bigger, while smaller prints and darker colors may help you look smaller. As always, horizontal stripes are a no! If you're wearing the caftan to cover-up because you're uncomfortable in your swim suit or to cover something up, your best bet is to go for a simple-colored caftan. You can even match the caftan with the colors in your swim suit!
So, if you want to cover up or simply to stay in the sun without getting sunburn, wear a caftan! You can camouflage those bumps and lumps, or block the scorching sun, and still look cute! With some great sunglasses, a cute hat, sandals and some accessories, you are sure to turn heads in your caftan this summer!
