Summer Holiday Packing Advice For Guys
Are you heading off on a trip this summer? Every man needs to know what clothes to pack. Find out just what to pack for your summer holiday this season.
No one wants to be loaded down with a ton of luggage while on vacation. Happily, be prepared for vacation doesn't require bringing a ton of gear. Smart packers know that the trick to traveling light is to select items that can be used in various combinations. The first item to put in your luggage is a handsome summer suit. Even if you stay at a beachy type of resort, they will have at least one place for fine dining, so the suit will come in handy. Light colors in tropical weights are the ideal suits for summer travel.
Of course you will also need to pack the right mix of shirts. Pack several of your custom men's shirts with both long and short sleeves. The long sleeve shirts will not only come in handy for cool evenings, but they will be helpful if you have had enough sun on your arms for one day. Plus, because you can roll up the sleeves, they are quite versatile. A nice light blue shirt is just the thing for a casual dinner in a cafe. A summery check is ideal for wearing with shorts or chinos for walking around town in the afternoon. A crisp white shirt always looks fresh in the summer. Remember that pure cotton shirts will be more comfortable during hot weather than blends because they breathe more.
In addition to your custom men's shirts, you will need a selection of golf shirts and short sleeve tshirts for your vacation. They are great to wear solo, for layering, or even as pajama tops. Pack a stylish pair of jeans and a lightweight sweater to wear over your tshirts for cool evenings. You will need a few other pairs of pants besides your jeans. A couple pairs of modern flat front chinos will be useful for all sorts of vacation moments. Also pack plenty of shorts for sunny afternoons or days at the beach. Basic chino shorts in tan and navy will go well with any of your shirts. Feel free to throw some seersucker or madras shorts into your suitcase for some variety.
Not sure what else to pack? Definitely pack a pair of swim trunks. Even when you are not going to the ocean, you might still end up doing some swimming, especially if traveling with your kids. The most current style in men's swimwear is trunks that run a little shorter than the ultra-long surfer trunks. Avoid the mistake of thinking that a teeny swimsuit will make you look like a competitive swimmer - it won't. For footwear, plan on shoes that match your suit, Topsiders for your chinos, and maybe a pair of sandals. Sandals are fine for poolside, but the rest of the time, real shoes are best. And don't forget your camera to document all the magical moments of your summer getaway.
